Dead Leaf Echo – Kingmaker

New York dream pop darlings, Dead Leaf Echo, recently released the video for “Kingmaker,” the first off their forthcoming debut album Thought and Language.

Filled with lofty inspiration, the album is more conceptual, “incorporating elements of ambient, baroque, dream-pop, shoegaze, new wave, and goth,” according to the band, and “follows the conception and birth of a child and his discovery of thought and language.”

Heavy on affect, the band creates a silky swirl of reverb laden guitars, sugary sweet vocals, and abstract lyrics that are staunchly reminiscent of Cocteau Twins, which isn’t too surprising given that the album is produced by John Fryer of Cocteau Twins fame.

Thought and Language drops on March 13th.

Dead Leaf Echo – Act of Truth

Check out the dreamy sounds of Dead Leaf Echo on “Act of Truth” – a track that simply floats from your speakers and evaporates.

Grab the split 7” with Slowness now, which is out on Greenfuse Records now.
