As the dreariness of winter drags on, let the heavily
Bjork-tinted Founds whisk you
away to an enchanted wonderland.
Far more interesting than anything I’ve heard in a while,
this sextet from Brisbane occupies a space
entirely their own in Australia ’s
indie scene. Driven by dizzying quixotic Bjork-like vocals, swirling strings, and
wispy melodies, Founds hurtles across continents and genres with their chimerical
blend of folk, magical realism, and dream pop.
Have a listen to my personal favorite, “Holograms,” as well
as “Caves,” which is taken from their debut album Hadean.
