My favorite new psychedelic band of late, the sultry MayMcDonough and Company, is back with a brand new single.
Abstract, sassy, and morbidly hilarious, “Mannequin” is a refreshing take on the feisty Western woman vibe a la Wanda Jackson’s “Hard-Headed Woman,” but with a slower, more 50s-inspired Connie Francis feel and amazing lyrics like, “Washing my new skeleton, I want you underneath my skin, tearing me limb from limb.”
For more May McDonough, check out the smoky “Hell Is For Lovers.”
